In 2015, Atlanta-based photographer Cam Kirk experienced a pivotal year in his career. As he traveled the world as a photographer and videographer for Travis Scott and Metro Boomin, Kirk realized the impact of his work and decided to become a focal point in Atlanta's creative scene.

Around the same time, rumors circulated that Gucci Mane would be released from prison. Kirk saw an opportunity to share unreleased photos of the rapper, revealing a different side of him. As he teased these images on Instagram, they gained viral attention and even caught Gucci Mane's attention from jail.

This inspired Kirk to create an exhibit featuring photos he had taken of Gucci Mane during his time in prison. He envisioned a unique exhibit with trap elements and even considered filming at a trap house. With the help of a friend, Kirk secured a trap house on the same street as Brick Factory Studio to transform it into a Gucci-themed exhibit.

However, the police raided the trap house, foiling Kirk's plans for the exhibit. Undeterred, he found an abandoned church as an alternative location. The church, with one section resembling an old church and the other a trap house, presented a unique opportunity to combine the two distinct areas.

Cam Kirk's journey in capturing and honoring Gucci Mane's legacy culminated in a successful exhibit held in the abandoned church. The photographer's creativity and determination in showcasing the rapper's story demonstrate the power of art in preserving and celebrating the legacies of influential figures.
